A local man is behind bars after allegedly stealing meat from Kroger.
Around 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Paris police officers were called to Kroger for reports of a theft.
Curtis Garrett of the Paris Police Department said when officers arrived, they were told 54-year-old Derwin Louis Hardison had stolen meat from the store.
“When located, officers recovered the stolen items,” Garrett said. “Hardinson was found to also have an outstanding parole violation warrant. Due to officers learning that Hardison had at least two prior theft convictions, this incident was enhanced to a felony.”
He was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
