Suspicious person call leads to felony burglary charges

A suspicious person call led to felony burglary charges against a man in Paris on Saturday.

Paris police officers responded to a suspicious person call around 3 a.m. in the 500 block of 42nd Street S.E.

Curtis Garrett of the Paris Police Department said officers located a 1999 silver Honda Accord driven by 23-year-old Glenn Earl Gordon.

“Gordon was found to be in possession of property that did not belong to him,” Garrett said. “It was later found that the property had been taken from two vehicles that were parked in the 300 block of 42nd Street S.E.”

Gordon was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of motor vehicles and possession of identifying information.

“The two counts of burglary of motor vehicles were enhanced to felonies due to previous convictions,” Garrett said.

He was later taken to Lamar County Jail.
