Paris rolls over Kennedale, crowned area champs

The Paris Wildcats rolled over the Kennedale Wildcats Friday, November 23 in Mckinney. What was supposed to be a close game quickly turned into a blowout as Paris controlled the field from start to finish. Not allowing Kennedale to score a touchdown until the fourth quarter, the Paris defense obtained two touchdowns and stopped the previously high scoring Kennedale offense.

Keeping the momentum high, Paris went to the locker room at halftime with a score of 14-3 thanks to runningback Do’rian Williams for both touchdowns. The Paris defense sealed the game in the third quarter when free safety Jaylen Henderson had a 90-yard pick six interception followed by outside linebacker Gerald Palmer’s fumble recovery and an 80-yard run for a touchdown. Hammering away the win for Paris, Kobe Savage ran it 30+ yards on a quarterback keeper.

Tensions grew in the fourth quarter started by Kennedale as Paris’ second string continued to stop the starting Kennedale players. Finishing out the game in victory formation with a score of 35-17, Paris advances to the third round of the playoffs as they face the Waco La Vega Pirates at the Frisco Star which is the Dallas Cowboy practice facility next Thursday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m.
