Prairiland falls to Whitewright in season finale

The Prairiland Patriots took a tough loss last night against the Whitewright Tigers. The Tigers were able to obtain an early lead and kept their momentum going not allowing the Patriots to close the gap within more than 14 points.

With a score of 26-12 at halftime, the Patriots began holding the Tigers and for the next quarter both teams went scoreless. However, at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Patriots found themselves scrambling for more time and eventually lost the season finale 54-18.

Even though the Patriots had a losing season with a final record of 1-9, Head Coach Greg Mouser said, “I thought the kids competed all year and competed to the very end of every ball game. It didn’t go as we had planned for our seniors but we have a lot of work to do with our underclassmen to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.”

It was an emotional game for the Prairiland Patriots, especially those seniors that played their final game of high school football. We wish all the seniors the very best of luck in your future endeavors.
